The Ness County Oil & Ag Museum sits along side the School House Museum, located at 211 E Sycamore Street in Ness City, Kansas.
Oil & agriculture has been the cornerstone of Ness County. Many of the early settlers moved here during the land grab in the late 1880's with the promise of bountiful crops, water and prairie grass for their cattle. Generations of farmers and ranchers have long lived in the county through the wet and dry years alike. The discovery of oil in the county around 1920 and the years since has sustained our community with many businesses continuing on the industry today. The Oil & Ag Museum is home to many relics of the legacy left behind by our old settlers and is a favorite
to all of our visitors. The Oil & Ag Museum is open to the public by appointment only.
